Jose L. Menendez
emigrated to England in 1990 after he finished
his studies at the Escuela Superior de Hosteleria
y Turismo - Madrid. He started up his first company
in Spain at the age of 25. He then built a career
from scratch in London until 1999 at which time, as
a Sales Director, he moved full-time into Personal
Coaching, a passion for which he lives now.
His Coaching career began in 1996, when he
discovered Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). That,
combined with coaching, impacted his life and others
who benefited from his coaching. His first professional
job in coaching came in 1998 when he was selected
to train students in 'Personal Management and Development'
at the International College of Oriental Medicine
(UK) in East Grinstead.
At the same time, Jose was a National Level basketball
referee. He presided over more than 10 Finals
in his 10 years of refereeing in UK. In May 2002,
he retired from basketball at the UK National Conference
Final.
Jose has designed one of the first NLP & Sports
programs for sportsmen and women to develop their
mental strengths. He is Co-Director of CHAMPIONMIND
Ltd and has worked and collaborated with pre-eminent
international experts from Australia and UK in this
arena. Since 2000, his Coaching skills have extended
into the business arena.
As an international speaker he travels abroad to
deliver presentations and runs his own successful
International Coaching Practice from London. He
is the author of the leading and most acclaimed
Coaching Training Program to train Personal Coaches
in Spain. This program was recently 'Recognised'
by the International Coach Federation (ICF).
He has built his 'know-how' from personal experiences
in life, as well as from training with some of the
best Coaching organisations from Europe and North
America. He is a Principal Coach of one of
the largest Coaching organisations in the World (The
Coaching Academy), and has trained with the Coaching
Training Institute, CTI. He has also trained with
Performance Consultants such as John Whitmore,
a world class and renowned expert in Business Coaching
with whom he now collaborates in Spain. He also trained
in Congruent, Creative and Business Coaching at Newcastle
College. He is a Master Practitioner in Neuro-Linguistic
Programming and Member of the International Coaching
Federation.
Jose is President of the Instituto Internacional Olacoach,
partner-director of OlaCoach Corporate and Co-Author
of one of the best selling books about coaching in
Spanish, "Abre el melon".
Jose has been referenced and interviewed in several
magazines, newspapers, on radio and television.
These include, El Universal (México), El Carabobo
(Venezuela), Tip Off Magazine, (England), El Mundo,
EL PAIS, El Norte de Castilla, Economía, (Spain),
RNE, REE, La COPE, Canal 13 (TV-Chile), Telecinco
(TV-Spain) and many more.
Jose has made a natural progression from working
in sport to business. Leveraging off his own experience
his client list now includes several high performance
executives and entrepreneurs.
In the two years, Jose has simultaneously started
up, designed and implemented the premier coaching
training program in Spain and the most frequently
visited Spanish coaching website. He has put together
a team of six coaching professionals who work together,
sharing a common vision. He pioneered Coaching
in Spain, and is now guiding others, through coaching,
to achieve their own professional and personal goals.
